Washing Guidelines

Guidelines for Washing Rain Wear

The rainwear does not need to be machine washed very often and ideally not more than once a month.

Wash at 30 degree Celsius (or lower) using normal washing powder.

Do NOT use any fabric conditioners, bleach or disinfectant anywhere on the clothing as this will destroy the waterproof coating.

Do up the buckles, zips and poppers prior to machine washing and don’t overload the machine - half load is best.

After washing, hang the clothes to dry in a warm room or on the washing line. Keep them away from heat.

Do NOT put them in a tumble dryer or on a radiator as this will damage the outer layer.

The rainwear will air dry very quickly on a clothes horse or on the washing line.

In general:-

Hang up rainwear after use and allow it to air and dry off if wet. If the bottom of the ankles or wrists have become damp on the inside turn them inside out to dry.

If the clothes are muddy wipe them down using warm soapy water and hang up to dry. (You can use a tiny amount of washing up liquid diluted in a bucket of warm water to clean off the mud).
